''A tree for a bottle'' in Brzeg Dolny

"A tree for a bottle" is the name of an ecological event initiated and carried out by chemical companies realising the Program "Responsible Care" on the World Day of Environment Protection. In tens of schools and nursery schools in Poland "PET" plastic bottles are collected together by the participants of the event and are then recycled. The symbol of recycled bottles are trees planted by children. This a competition between classes, groups operating within one town or county consisting in collecting the biggest possible amount of empty "PET" plastic bottles.

This year, PCC Rokita joined this program believing this is a very precious event combining advantages of ecological education, social activity and care for own environment. Collecting bottles by schools and nursery schools which expressed their willingness to take part in this ecological game took place on 22 and 23 May 2006.

The results of the first edition of the event were really incredible - youngest habitants of Brzeg Dolny collected 32 thousand bottles!!!

In Brzeg Dolny, the competition was prepared from the logistical point of view and coordinated by PCC Rokita - the company realising the Program "Responsible care". The Company also provided prizes and coordinated a right collection of gathered bottles and directing them to be recycled.

During the final event which took place on 13 June 2006 as a part of the Large Ecological Competition  all participants of the competition obtained prizes, awards and diplomas. Best "collectors" from primary schools were awarded with bicycles, nursery schools were provided with lots of toys and the pupils of the most active school from Godzięcin  won a trip to the doll theatre in Wrocław and to a cinema.
