PCC Rokita was honoured with the prestigious title of ‘Pillar of the Polish Economy’ and, at the same time, was recognised to be a key company in the Lower Silesian province.
The 2007-edition of the contest for the most important regional companies in Poland was concluded on Monday, 26 November 2007, during a celebration Gala held in Warsaw. PCC Rokita was awarded the title ‘Pillar of the Polish Economy’ in the region of Lower Silesia.
The ‘Pillars of the Polish Economy’ contest is held annually by the Puls Biznesu daily and the international credit information agency Coface Poland. It promotes and recognises the companies that are important in their regions in terms of their operations and also commitment to the local community.
The contest principles assume that the company awarded the Pillar of the Polish Business distinction should be promote sustainable development, enjoy a leading position in the region, create new jobs and support local cultural, sports and charity initiatives, being the pride of the local population.
The ranking was based on the evaluation of the companies’ interaction with their environment in terms of economic performance, social commitment and regional implications. In the contest, the best companies - business leaders and ‘companies-citizens’ were identified and honoured.
The contest covered the whole of Poland. On each of the 17 lists (16 provinces plus Warsaw) 25 companies were classified (thus, in the Lower Silesian list, PCC Rokita competed against 24 other companies from the region). The winner of each list was awarded the title of ‘Pillar of the Polish Economy’ reinforcing its robust economic standing and position in the region.
The statuette and certificate granted to PCC Rokita are the best evidence that the company runs its business operation in a fair and transparent manner and, while securing good financial performance, displays a high level of social sensitivity and is capable of responding to the needs of the local community. The distinction is yet another confirmation of the company’s standing in the region.
