Brzeg Dolny, July 2007

Technology ChemiPark has been founded

On Monday, the 25th of June 2007, in Brzeg Dolny, the Articles of Association of the company ChemiPark Technologiczny Sp. z o.o. were signed. The new entity provides a response to the demands of Polish scientific and industrial circles, which lack opportunities to jointly generate innovation and put it into practice.

The decision to establish the Technology Chemipark (ChemiPark) was taken by the Management Board of PCC Rokita on the 4th of June 2007. It has resulted in the entity founded today, whose task is to manage the park. This will be the first park in the region oriented towards the chemical industry. This centre will undoubtedly contribute to implementation of the key assumptions of the Regional Innovative Strategy of Lower Silesia.

TECHNOLOGY PARK ChemiPark aims primarily at: stimulating the development of advanced technologies and creating organisational and technical conditions for the transfer of scientific achievements, as well as their implementation in practice. This shall be achieved by means of infrastructure prepared by the park, meant to provide support for, among others, carrying out research oriented to chemistry, testing conducted on a semi-technical scale, or making implementation investments.

ChemiPark, through its collaboration with schools of higher education, as well as research and scientific institutions, will act as a meeting point for people in science and business. This effect of integration and co-operation will be brought about by organisation of numerous, joint scientific undertakings, technological consultancy, and scientific or trade conferences.

ChemiPark will provide support for those entrepreneurs, who implement modern chemical technologies. The main aim of the activities will be to create conditions for transformation of scientific research results and development efforts into technological innovation on an industrial scale. Owing to such operations, it is planned to achieve the synergy effect in the scientific and industrial potential in an environment adjusted to play such a role, due to its existing base of resources, logistics and trades, providing services to the chemical production.

It is envisaged that ChemiPark will function as a centre of consultancy in establishing and developing companies, as well as a training centre for increasing competitiveness of human resources, indispensable in strengthening innovative advantage in the chemical sector.

Moreover, the park is to perform tasks related to the incubation of newly established companies, that is to support them with adequate consultancy, training and services in the basic functions in business activities (e.g. accounting and legal services, provision of office space and investment areas).

ChemiPark will conduct its activities on the premises adjacent to the PCC Rokita production plant. It is planned that the following entities will function within the framework of ChemiPark: Business Incubator founded jointly with the Brzeg Dolny urban municipality, Central Analytic and Development Laboratory, and an office, training and conference centre.
